W. B Anderson
W.B. Anderson Properties - A Brief History

During the 1890's William Blaylock Anderson set up a fruit and vegetable business in Carlisle Cumbria. The business grew and expanded throughout the North of England and the South of Scotland. In 1937 William Blaylock's two sons, John and William, joined the firm and took control on the death of their father in 1949.

The business went from strength to strength but even in the mid 1970's it was becoming evident that supermarkets were playing an increasingly important role in the high street. In 1976 the fruit and vegetable company was sold excluding the properties and W. B. Anderson went from being a trader in fruit and vegetables to that of a landlord.

Today Philip Anderson, one of William Blaylock's grandsons, administers the affairs of the company on behalf of other family shareholders.

The company has a mix of commercial properties in England and Scotland. The tenants range from being large plc companies to local entrepreneurs.
